28 Jul The Willow Trust boat trips out
Uplands and Secret Garden day guests and staff recently had a fun trip along the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal on The Willow Trust boats.
Huge thanks to the Willow Trust charity and their team – Skippers John and Buzz and their volunteers, for kindly hosting a wonderful time on their boats, for free, we are very grateful.
Guests and staff thoroughly enjoyed the experience, the scenic route and having a go at steering.
Thanks also to our catering team who prepared a delicious picnic and to Matt in our Estates team who drove our mini bus. Matt took some great photos of the boats and part of the 16 mile long canal!
About The Willow Trust charity – the team provide thousands of people – elderly, disabled and unwell adults and children, a wonderful trip on board their boats, free of charge. Their two boats, Leonard Matchan and Spirit of Freedom II, are purpose-built and fully wheelchair accessible. 2022 sees The Willow Trust entering its 32nd season. The Willow Trust is completely self-funding and, apart from our own fundraising events and the contributions of all our supporters, they are totally dependent on donations to stay afloat.
You can find The Willow Trust boats at Saul Junction, Frampton on Severn, GL2 7LA or visit their website here: willowtrust.org
