The NEW Butterfly Wing provides extra care and happiness

Since Royal Court’s extra care suite, the Butterfly Wing opened, their new residents are feeling very happy, needed and comfortable.

The Butterfly Wing suits residents living with a wide range of conditions, including dementia, who might otherwise feel lost or overwhelmed in a larger care home. It bridges the gap between residential and nursing care.

Izabella who is leading the care on the Butterfly Wing, having worked on the extra care suite at Faithfull House, tells us how it’s going.

“The wing is a small floor which gives us the opportunity to approach each residents individually, enjoy the time together and take part in various activities. One week after opening and residents moving in, we already notice significant difference in how our residents feel. They look happy and cheerful, our team try to maintain their independence and the feeling of being needed. Residents help with tasks such as watering flowers, feeding birds, making a bed or preparing a table for a meal. Residents feel part of our small family community, where they feel loved, safe and needed.”

It’s great to hear the positive impact this wing is already having.
