The Bishop of Gloucester’s visit to Faithfull House

Faithfull House had a wonderful visit from the Bishop of Gloucester yesterday.

Our residents and staff thoroughly enjoyed meeting and chatting over the delicious afternoon tea kindly prepared by Faithfull House’s catering team.

Did you know, Bishop Rachel was consecrated as the 41st Bishop of Gloucester in 2015 and made history by becoming the first female diocesan bishop and the first female bishop in the House of Lords.

Bishop Rachel recognised the formidable work of fellow women who have made history, including our founder Lilian Faithfull. Bishop Rachel commented in her post, “on this day when the Church of England celebrates Josephine Butler, I am giving thanks for amazing women who worked for justice & women’s rights. Lilian Faithful was one such woman. She & Josephine Butler both have connections.”

Huge thanks to the Bishop Rachel for her visit and great company.
