Paramedic students welcomed on placement

Throughout March Lilian Faithfull Care were delighted to welcome sixteen future paramedics from the University of Gloucestershire.  The degree students spent two weeks on placement in our homes as part of their degree course.

The students were shadowing the care teams and taking the time to learn about communication with people living with dementia. Their placements included studying care plans and then spent time talking with residents about their pastimes and doing activities together.

Residents and staff all really appreciated the time they spent with them.  One student commented;

“Everyone is treated with respect and dignity here.

Another wrote in an email afterwards;

“I would just like to say thanks to you and all staff for all your support. I learnt a lot, especially around people with dementia which was valuable to me.  All staff were friendly, helpful and supportive.”

Thank you so much to all the students for their time, support and compassion towards our residents. We look forward to welcoming more paramedic students in the future.
