30 Mar Over 200+ residents now protected by the 2nd vaccine
Lilian Faithfull Care are pleased to announce that all their residents, across their five care homes in Gloucestershire, have now been offered the 2nd dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
This second dose gives their 200+ residents that much needed extra protection against Covid-19. This vaccine achievement really is a milestone and a step forward in Lilian Faithfull Care’s journey through the Covid-19 pandemic.
Chief Executive, Martin Hughes commented, “Tuesday was a day of National reflection. Today is a day of hope for our homes. We know this news will be gratefully received by our residents’ families.”
The charity would like to recognise the hard work of all their staff who have kept their residents safe during this last year. And also thank the local NHS GP teams that have visited the homes and administered the vaccines over the last few weeks.
“We greatly look forward to the extra immunity that this second dose will give,” commented Suzanne Booker, Director of Care at Lilian Faithfull Care
All Lilian Faithfull Care’s homes – four in Cheltenham and one in Stroud are safely welcoming residents into their care homes. They hope this extra vaccine protection news will give people confidence that their homes are one of the safest places to live, and also to work in the county.
This news follows their recent announcements of welcoming visitors back into their care homes on 8 March. Plus the news of their two adult Day Care centres re-opening – the Secret Garden Hub in Cheltenham and Uplands in Stroud. The day care centres provide companionship and help combat loneliness for people in Gloucestershire, and provide respite for family carers. Their staff have an expertise in caring for those living with dementia and other long term debilitating conditions.
