Secret Garden Hub – Faithfull House

The Secret Garden Hub offers flexible individually tailored day care for people who live in our community. We have an expertise in caring for those living with Dementia, Parkinson’s Alzehimer’s, recovering from Strokes and other conditions. We are passionate about wanting to improve the quality of life for our guests, providing companionship, promoting independence and giving respite and support to families and carers.

The bright modern pods surrounded by a private courtyard gives a fantastic setting for our guests to enjoy their day. Our hub is ‘family-sized’ which means that we have a calm and tranquil atmosphere and guests quickly recognise faces and feel familiar in the environment.  Our commitment to offer flexible care means people can visit from an hour to a whole day.

Our staff team have a wealth of experience in elderly care and have a particular interest and expertise in caring for those living with dementia. We offer ‘person-centred care’ building the care and support around the needs of each guest. We spend time learning about each guest when they first arrive, their interests, hobbies and favoured routines and this knowledge is constantly added to as the relationship develops.

The team also offer support to family and friends of guests as we recognise that caring for a loved one can be physically and mentally demanding.

This new younger group at the Secret Garden Hub Care Home is all about supporting those living with dementia at a younger age, typically those aged 40-65.

The days are full of opportunities, with varied activities, trips, entertainment and good food with the companionship of others who are also adapting to living life with dementia.

The small welcoming group means people quickly feel at home and the experienced staff adapt the day to suit, in a safe and supportive environment.

Our activities programme is key in encouraging physical and mental wellbeing for guests. We get to know the interests and hobbies of the guests and we also enjoy offering the opportunity to find new hobbies and discover new places.  To find out what is planned this month, click on ‘Monthly Activities’ button (which can be found below the photo of Mark, on the right hand side of the page)

Our nutritious food is prepared daily by our chefs in Faithfull House and served in the café. We cater for all dietary requirements and preferences. We can provide breakfast if required.

We offer a variety of light lunches and our ‘fantastic fish Friday’ is always popular!

Our afternoon tea is always accompanied by freshly made homemade cakes.

There is a familiar pattern to days at the Hub but there are no rigid times to ensure nothing is rushed and things flow in response to our guests.

Each day starts with a look at the daily newspapers, giving the chance to discuss the news and current affairs over a cup of tea.

The daily activities board then shows what is planned for the day, which allows us to gauge response from the guests. There is always flexibility to add new things or offer alternative options.

Our lunch experience is always a highlight of the day.  After our afternoon activities we enjoy a leisurely afternoon tea around 3pm, to which families are always welcome

Our flexible fees structure means that guests can visit from an hour to a whole day and individual packages can be arranged. As a charity we are able to offer very competitive rates. A day session rate is charged for a visit which is 3 hours or over. For shorter visits we charge an hourly rate. For up to date charges please contact the Hub.

The Hub is located in the grounds of Faithfull House on Suffolk Square. When facing Faithfull House the gate to the Hub is located on the right hand end of the building. Please ring the bell and one of the team will come and welcome you.
