Our new Royal Garden Hub builds on the experience and success of our Secret Garden Hub which has been providing day care to older people in Cheltenham since 2015. We are passionate about wanting to improve the quality of life of older people, promoting independence and giving respite and support to families and carers. The Royal Garden Hub offers flexible individually tailored day care, with an expertise in caring for those living with dementia. The building provides a bright, modern and accessible space with its own private courtyard. Our Royal Garden Hub is ‘family-sized’ which means that guests quickly recognise faces and feel familiar in the environment. Our commitment to offer flexible care means people are able to book visits from an hour to a whole day.
Come and visit us to get an immediate feel for the warm, happy and relaxed atmosphere of the Hub. You are welcome to join us for a coffee, meet Mark and the team and find out more. If it is difficult to visit us, we are happy to come and visit you.
Our day care is based within our Royal Garden Community Hub building which is straight ahead of you as you come into Royal Court’s drive off Fiddlers Green Lane road. Please come straight on it. On the left you will also find our assisted living home Royal Court.
Lilian Faithfull Care differs from other day care providers as we have a team of qualified and experienced care staff who are able to provide personal care and support. Our staff team have a wealth of experience in elderly care and have a particular interest and expertise in caring for those living with dementia.
We offer ‘person-centred care’ working with guests and their families to plan the level of care needed. We are able to offer one to one sessions giving personal support to each guest. If guests require medication during the day, it is locked away on arrival and our trained staff are able to assist with or administer medication as required.
The team also offer support to family and friends of guests as we recognise that caring for a loved one can be physically and mentally demanding. We have an open door policy for all our families to drop by to talk through any issues and we organise events where families can meet others in similar situations.
Our activities programme is key in encouraging physical and mental wellbeing for guests. We get to know the interests and hobbies of the guests and we also enjoy offering the opportunity to try new activities and discover new places. There will be a familiar pattern to days at the Hub but there are no rigid times to ensure nothing is rushed and things flow in response to our guests. Each day will start with a look at the daily newspapers, giving the chance to discuss the news and current affairs over a cup of tea. We will provide a monthly activities schedule with different activities planned each day but there is always flexibility to offer alternative options. Typical activities at the Royal Garden Hub will include;
Live musical performances
Gentle excercise such as Tai Chi, Easy Fit and Dance therapy
Trips to local cafes and attractions
Reminiscence activities including quizzes and games
Baking club
Access to Hairdressing salon by appointment
Arts & Crafts with our 'in house' artist
Gardening club
Our nutritious food is freshly prepared by our chefs and we enjoy making meals a sociable and relaxed occasion. We cater for all dietary requirements and preferences. We offer a variety of light lunches and families are welcome to join us for our afternoon tea which is always a highlight!
Our flexible fees structure means that guests can book visits from an hour to a whole day and individual packages can be arranged. As a charity we are able to offer very competitive rates. A day session rate is charged for a visit which is 3 hours or over. For shorter visits we charge an hourly rate. Please contact Mark, our Hub Manager for planned charging rates.
