Our Home Environment

Bay Tree Court is a modern and spacious purpose-built residential home. It is tucked away on the high street of Prestbury village and in easy reach of Cheltenham town centre.

Residents are welcome to add their furnishings and personal belongings to their rooms. Each of the 59 rooms has ensuite WC facilities, some rooms also have shower facilities and all can use the fully accessible bathrooms. The bedrooms are light and well proportioned; some have double doors or Juliette balconies opening onto the gardens and courtyard.

The spacious communal areas are at the heart of the home, many of which overlook the gardens. Our two smaller coffee lounges, library and conservatory mean there is always a quiet place to be found to enjoy a book or meet with family and friends. The hairdressing salon is open each week and offers a popular service.

The enclosed courtyard garden gives a lovely focal point to the home and in warmer weather it becomes a popular alfresco dining space.

Our housekeeping and maintenance teams take great pride in keeping the home clean, fresh and safe and the on-site laundry ensures prompt, efficient and personal service.

Our Care

Residential care at Bay Tree Court is tailored around each person’s needs and preferences. This ‘person-centred’ care is at the heart of our ethos. Staff support people to be as independent as possible and involve people in the planning their care alongside their families.

We liaise closely with a multi-disciplinary team of external health professionals including district nurses and GP surgeries.

Our staff are knowledgeable about caring for those living with dementia. The team are skilled in helping people settle and support them to live a contented and fulfilled life in this chapter of their lives.

We offer short term respite care. This might be to give time for recuperation after a hospital stay or illness.  It can also give a gentle introduction to the home and offer carers a valuable break.

We offer care for couples, some double rooms are available or alternatively some couples may wish to have their own separate rooms to accommodate varying needs and still happily share their days together.

To learn about how we are responding to Covid please visit our Care during Covid webpage.

Activities

The team organise a varied range of activities at Bay Tree Court.  There are regular visiting musicians, (including recitals on the piano in the lounge) twice weekly filmshows, pamper sessions, coffee mornings, visits from dogs and their owners with Pets as Therapy and singing with Mindsong.  There is a Prayer and Praise session is offered each week.  Trips out are organised when the weather allows.

home Cooking

Our chefs prepare fresh nutritious and well balanced home cooked food each day meeting the dietary needs and preferences of residents.  The light and spacious dining rooms with their beautiful murals gives a lovely social atmosphere for residents to enjoy their meals. The menus are displayed by the dining room and different options are always available.

The tea trolley tours the home three times a day with refreshments, home made cakes (and savoury treats each Wednesday), afternoon tea or evening snacks.  Drinks and snacks are always available on request day & night.

We hold special seasonal days throughout the year, theming our food around all the major festivals, as well as sporting and royal events. We enjoy hosting family parties for any occasion, the conservatory offers a private space for such events.

Our chefs are experienced at preparing special menus for people who have difficulties in swallowing.  This includes beautifully piped puree meals which increases enjoyment, stimulates appetite and retains dignity in dining.
