19 May Our first charity shop!
Lilian Faithfull Care will soon be coming to the heart of Tewkesbury High Street – we are opening our first charity shop! Over its 76 year history, our charity has cared for many Tewkesbury residents and their families so it seems a very fitting location to launch this new venture.
We have the keys to the premises and we’re very excited! Look out for the ‘Faithfull Vintage & Treasure’ shop opening early summer, on the High Street opposite the popular Café au Chocolat and next to Peacocks.
You’ll be able to come and browse our fashionable, affordable and sustainable clothing and homeware and bag yourself a new found treasure. Bright modern, spacious and friendly, it makes affordable and sustainable shopping a real pleasure. The children’s section will have pocket money treasures as well as clothing and books.
Martin Hughes, CEO of the charity commented,
“The shop will raise important funds for the charity to care for more people in Gloucestershire, and raise awareness of the exceptional care we provide across our two adult day hubs and five residential and nursing homes.”
Shop manager, Sarah Merritt is a local to Tewkesbury and worked for the charity for nearly 6 years, so is a fantastic advocate of our work. Sarah is currently recruiting volunteers who can give a few hours or a day, on a regular basis, to help in the new shop.
“I’ve worked in retail before so when this Shop Manager opportunity came up within the charity, it sounded perfect. I am excited about bringing a team of volunteers together and would love to hear from anyone who might be able to help.”
Would you like to volunteer or perhaps you know someone amongst your friends or family that might like to join our team?
Volunteers just need to be 18 or over and be happy to give a regular commitment and appropriate training will be provided. It will be a warm, inclusive place to volunteer and a great opportunity to be involved in the creation of this new project.
To apply to volunteer simply complete this form: www.lilianfaithfull.co.uk/volunteer-application and we’ll be in touch.
Alternatively, are you an avid local Tewkesbury shopper or Instagramer that would like to get involved with the charity’s shop news?
To find out more about volunteering or to offer help towards the shop any other way, Sarah would be delighted to hear from you on 01242 240206 or email Sarah.Merritt@lilianfaithfull.co.uk
Follow our social media to be the first to hear about the official opening date, and come and bag a bargain!
Sarah and the team are looking forward to being at the heart of the bustling community in Tewkesbury and thank you in advance for any support you can give.
