Staff work anniversary awards at Astell House
24 JulAstell House has celebrated some super staff service awards this week.
Congratulations to Nicky for 5 years, Sara for 10 years and Sue for a fantastic 25 years at Lilian Faithfull Care!
Liam and the team surprised them with beautiful flowers, a delicious cake, gifts and badges. They shared with us what they love about working at Lilian Faithfull Care – take a read below. Pictured left to right – Sara, Sue, Liam and Nicky.
Sue has worked 25 years as a Senior Care Assistant and Care Assistant at Lilian Faithfull Care, first at Dowty House and then at Astell House. When asked what she’s enjoyed about her 25 years, she said,
“I don’t know, I just enjoy the job, all of it, the residents, and nice atmosphere. I’ve met a lot of residents. Had a lot of funny moments.”
Sara, pictured on the left, started at Lilian Faithfull Care 10 years ago as a cleaner in Dowty House, used to cover laundry and when she moved over to Astell House she became their Laundry Assistant. Nobody else could teach Sara anything new about laundry, except Tina. We asked Sara what she enjoys about the job she replied,
“The residents, I see the residents when I collect their washing and deliver the fresh clothes back. I have little chats and feel more of a friend than staff, as they share news and tales about themselves. Some residents have been here a long time.”
Nicky, pictured on the right, has been a Care Assistant for 5 years at Astell House, and has worked in the care sector for 15 years in total, working days and nights. We asked Nicky what’s the best thing about being a Care Assistant and she commented,
“I enjoy being here; I enjoy seeing the residents and working with the staff.”
She shared a typical day:
“I help the residents get up, washed, dressed, do their medicine, take them to their breakfast, lunch, sit with them in the afternoon, then ready for supper and finishes helping them to bed.”
