Happy 100th to Mrs Pinchin

A very happy 100th birthday 🎂 to Mrs Emmie Pinchin who lives at our Faithfull House home on Suffolk Square in Cheltenham. Mrs Pinchin celebrated her 100th birthday on Saturday with the home’s staff and her family. She was delighted to receive the special birthday card from The King and The Queen’s consort which takes pride of place in her room. Let’s find out more about Emmie…..

Emmie was born 1922 in Beaston, Derbyshire and moved into Faithfull House in 2014. Emmie worked hard and passed her school certificate then went to work in Strinton Iron works in the office in Derbyshire. While Emmie was working there she met and later married her husband, Horace and they had 65 happy years together.

Emmie and Horace had a son and two daughters and once they were grown up, Emmie and Horace liked to travel and spend time away over the winter months. They travelled to places like Spain and Majorca, and enjoyed coach or train holidays in these countries and in the UK. Emmie now has a large family with many grandchildren and great grandchildren who live in this country and abroad.

Emmie’s family visit often and take her out for food, to their homes for a meal, or to the shops for a coffee and a bit of shopping. Emmie loves to keep in touch with the outside world.

Emmie is a very sociable lady and has made a very good friend in another lady who lives at Faithfull house. Emmie likes to spend her time watching the world go by from her window, which overlooks the bowling green, and also time in the garden and joining in with activities like gentle exercises.

Emmie says she’s very happy in her home at Faithfull House, and loves all the staff, who she says are very supportive and helpful.
