Barbara’s last wish…..

Our Resthaven care home in Stroud recently had a visit from two beautiful ponies Honey and Casper. Barbara’s last wish was to see a horse again, and Resthaven’s new Activity Co-ordinator Anton made it come true. With the help of owners Ann and Peter, they brought the two ponies to the home and into Barbara’s room. It was so moving to see Honey connect with Barbara with compassion and love. Barbara had a huge passion for horses and was a well-known judge for dressage in the UK and Europe.

The ponies then went to see Resthaven’s other residents and staff, which they thoroughly enjoyed.

Barbara’s daughter Jocelyn was so grateful for her mother’s wish coming true, days after sharing it with the team.

Barbara died peacefully a few days later. Barbara will be missed by the Resthaven team and they send their deepest sympathies to Jocelyn and family.
