06 Sep Mr Robert Wood
Age 18, Mr Wood (on far left) served in the RAF in Egypt for his national service and enjoyed it so much he stayed an extra year. Pictured here with friends from Dursley.
In his 40s Mr Wood converted a derelict mill near Dursley into a beautiful home and included a 20 seater cinema which he opened to his local community to come and watch films. He achieved this alongside his career as a journalist and editor of local newspapers including founding the Cotswold Star.
Age 87, Mr Wood lived in our Stroud based home in Pitchcombe called Resthaven, and the team feel privileged to have had him with us.
