Home Cooking

Our home cooking is a priority across Lilian Faithfull Care, and plays a key role in both;

our care of residents; ensuring a nutritious diet

giving quality of life; ensuring our meals are a highlight of the day.

We took our catering teams in house in 2016 to increase the control we have over the dining experience of our residents in our bid to continually drive up standards. We are delighted that in 2018 we made it to the final three in the national Care Home Awards for ‘Best for Nutrition, Food & Dining Experience’ run by Care Home Management magazine and Care England.

Daily Dining

Our team of chefs prepare fresh nutritious and well balanced menus each day, offering a wide range of options at every meal. Menus are changed regularly to ensure constant variety and interest.

Each home offers a different range of options. In addition to breakfast, lunch and dinner we provide morning coffee, sherry hour, afternoon teas and pre-dinner drinks in our dining rooms, lounges or gardens (weather permitting!). Our catering teams enjoy creating special culinary treats to celebrate every occasion.  The team also get involved in our activities programme, facilitating baking clubs and themed events for the residents and their cheese and wine evenings are always popular.

Residents choose where they like to dine; whether they enjoy sharing it in the company of others in our dining rooms or prefer to be in the privacy of their own room.

Dietary Requirements

Lilian Faithfull Care’s dietician oversees the menus and undertakes individual assessments and dietary plans where appropriate. We cater for all dietary requirements both those required for medical reasons and, just as importantly, those around personal preferences.

Our chefs are experienced at preparing special menus for people who have difficulties chewing or swallowing.  Their beautifully presented puree meals use clever piping techniques to ‘recreate’ the dishes which both helps stimulate appetite and increases enjoyment for the residents.

Sharing a meal together

When the current Covid-19 restrictions can be lifted all the homes are looking forward to once again welcoming guests to join residents for a meal and hosting family parties for special occasions.
