Liam Gardner

Liam became manager of Astell House in the summer of 2022 after over a decade in care.

Liam started his career in care working with people with learning disabilities and also gained experience in mental health, before coming to work with older people. He has been at Lilian Faithfull Care since 2017 and has key roles at Resthaven, which offers both residential and nursing care.

Liam’s early experience with people with learning disabilities and those with mental health issues continues to inform his approach particularly with those living with dementia. A natural people person his calm and warm approach sets the tone of the home.

He enjoys working closely alongside the staff team; his experience of different care roles means he prioritises creating a supportive and homely atmosphere.

Liam also explains “I am really particular about the environment in our home, I want it to be right and create a warm social community.”

Outside of work he enjoys time with his dog Charlie, as well as cooking and going to the theatre.
