Karen West

Karen has been working in care for over 20 years. She started as a part time carer whilst studying business management at college and this was how she discovered a love of working in care.

She quickly became a senior carer, resuming her career after maternity leave to become deputy manager then home manager of two different care homes.

Karen joined our charity in 2022 “One of the things that struck me was the charity’s ‘Home for Life’ promise and that had a big impact on me.”

Karen explains what continues to motivate her in her role; “It’s seeing the impact of what good care looks like. When I see the resident’s thriving – that is the most important thing for me.”

When not at work Karen enjoys reading, listening to music and podcasts and, when time allows, gets out for long walks.
