ITV national and local news highlights our vaccine roll-out

Over the last week we have been privileged to feature across ITV’s news channels, both on national news and on local reports for the West Country and Central regions.  The footage they gained on a brief visit to Faithfull House has been used to highlight a number of key stories, particularly the fact that all care home residents have now been offered the opportunity to have the first dose of the vaccine and also the government’s priority to reopen homes for visiting as soon as it is safe to do so.

John Crick sums up the feeling of many residents after receiving the first dose of vaccine; “I’m delighted I’ve had it.  You feel totally different because you feel you are getting somewhere and you are getting on the way to be free.”

Louise Maisey reflects on how it has made a difference to the staff, “You feel a sense of relief that you can see something positive coming.”

Our local MP Alex Chalk commented “This is a moment of real hope, and there is a great buzz of optimism and excitement that we could be heading towards better days”.
