23 Jun Our first charity shop “Faithfull Vintage and Treasure” is OPEN!
At 10am today Town Mayor Simon Raywood and Councillor Joanne Raywood officially opened our first ever charity shop “Faithfull Vintage and Treasure” on Tewkesbury High Street. The shop quickly filled with customers enjoying an opening day glass of bubbly and fabulous cakes.
“It’s so spacious”, “I’m impressed with that, that’s’ lovely”, were some of the first comments from shoppers. The till didn’t stop and people were delighted with their purchases. It was fantastic to see that it has already become “a place where someone’s vintage becomes another’s new found treasure”.
“I am feeling extremely proud, it’s been a new challenge for the charity and we’ve come together to create something with a different feel.” commented Suzanne Booker, Director of Care whose vision has helped to create the ‘boutique’ style shop. “It has brought so many people together from across the charity and we are already so grateful for the support from families of those we care for and the local Tewkesbury community.”
Martin Hughes, Chief Executive of Lilian Faithfull Care is a new convert to charity shopping and the many benefits it can bring, “It’s affordable, fashionable and sustainable – it’s incredible what you can find. Our shop is not only important in raising funds for the charity but it is also about raising awareness of our work across the county. It has been a great start today, being able to talk about our charity to people who are just finding out about us, as well as welcoming families of those we care for in our homes and day hubs.”
Thank you to our supplier Acticare and their team for kindly providing some delicious Krispy Kreme doughnut for staff and customers on our launch day!
Congratulations to all the teams involved in creating our first shop, it’s a great success and it looks fantastic!
The shop is open Tuesday to Saturday 10-4 for customers to come and choose from the fun festival outfits, pretty prom dresses, baby bundle gifts, ladies, mens and kids wear, pocket money toys , gifts, or maybe find good book to pass the time by on holiday.
Shop, donate and volunteer with us and help our charity care for people in Gloucestershire; a warm welcome awaits at “Faithfull Vintage and Treasure”.
