Lilian Faithfull Care is a charity with 75 years’ experience of providing care and support to older people in Gloucestershire. As a charity you can trust we are in care for the right reasons – not for profit. Our ‘Home for Life’ pledge means we will never ask a resident to leave our care homes for financial reasons. It’s the little things and involvement of all our staff which fills our homes and hubs with laughter and a place they can call home.
When I get the chance to visit my dear friend, I'm always taken aback by the level of the professionalism, care and friendliness of the staff. They do everything possible to make Faithfull House his home from home. It's warming to see the other residents receiving the same level of care, compassion and understanding to make them comfortable, relaxed and involved as possible. Considering the pressure the healthcare industry is under the staff at Faithfull House do a fantastic job. I have nothing but admiration for the way they look after the residents, keeping them safe and secure.

"My Mother chose to spend a month with Resthaven to decide if she would like to stay. I am delighted to say she did and we as her family have nothing but thanks to the team there for their caring and friendly help. She is 97 years old and frail, but they make her feel welcome at all times."

"I cannot explain in words how amazing Faithfull House Cheltenham has been for my mum. They are so kind and caring. Mum has been a resident since September. Certainly no complaints. The team are marvellous."

Always such helpful staff and always feel welcome even in these challenging times. My dad has received wonderful care and I have seen first hand the rapport the staff have taken the time to build with him. Staff have gone out of their way to make our family feel supported during my dad's stay at Resthaven.

My mum, aged 91, has been at Resthaven for a couple of years now. The staff went out of their way to make mum feel welcome and cared for on her arrival, which helped her settle down so much quicker than expected. Mum is truly happy at Resthaven. The views from Resthaven are also breath-taking, looking out over the Stroud valley. I’m thrilled that I found this wonderful home for my dear old mum in her hour of need. Her happiness helps me feel happier too.

My father has been happy to be at Royal Court. Having experienced another care home, albeit for a very short period, he has come to value where he is now and the obvious care that he receives. He enjoys the foo, which is a significant bonus given that we were quite sure that he was probably not taking proper care of himself in that regard. He has often repeated that he is very glad to be where he now is... He very much likes the staff and their friendliness.

I have been impressed with the informative communication from the initial contact with St Faith's. Covid does present extra challenges, but my mother settled well, and the staff always kept me updated and facilitated phone calls. It has been lovely to start to visit in person, and have had fantastic visits in the garden. All the staff I have met have been so friendly, obviously know my mother well and nothing seems too much trouble. Its is lovely to see my mother so well cared for.

Dad moved into Astell in November 2019 after losing his wife and suffering loneliness and a diagnosis of dementia; the move was a decision made by him. Since the move, there has been a marked improvement in his mental health, with most signs of dementia disappearing. He is occupied, socialising and happy and takes part fully in all the activities. The management and staff have been amazing, nothing too much trouble and his medical care has been exemplary, particularly in these difficult times. It has been very reassuring over the past sixteen months to know that he is in such capable hands and local to his family who are kept in touch at all times. Thank you to everyone at Astell.
