Gill Pyatt – Chair of Trustees:
Gill retired from being a Headteacher of a comprehensive school and joined LFH Trustees in 2010 taking over the Chair in 2014. Gill is also a member of the Independent Monitoring Board of a women’s prison and a Lay Chair for the Severn Deanery (postgraduate medical education). In her spare time Gill swims and runs, enjoys music, sudoku, gardening, dog walking and the cinema.
Jane Woodley – Vice-Chair of Trustees:
Jane is a former Headmistress of an independent school, where she was responsible for the management of staff, educational attainment of pupils and the budget for running a successful business. She was also an inspector of schools. Immediately upon retirement she went to Birkbeck College, London and studied for an MA after which she lectured there for several years. More recently, through different personal circumstances, Jane has gained extensive experience of conditions and quality in care homes in both London and the South West. She now lives in Cheltenham and enjoys her family and grandchildren.
Chris Dickenson – Trustee:
Chris has retired from a career in human resource management, also serving on employment tribunals. He became a trustee in 2014 and is also a British Red Cross volunteer. After a lifelong interest Chris achieved a Masters in international relations as a rather mature student. Living in a Cotswold village with his wife, dog and cat, he also enjoys walking, swimming, and the arts.
Janet Ballinger – Trustee:
Janet is a Certified Accountant, who is employed as a Finance Business Partner for a national construction company, she works mainly from their Gloucester and Bristol offices. Janet has been a trustee of LFH since 2010 and is currently the Chair of the Finance Committee. She has lived in Cheltenham for over 35 years and enjoys swimming, coastal holidays involving surfing, gardening, dog walking, the cinema and meals out.
Alan Bishop – Trustee:
Alan joined the Board of Trustees in November 2014. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality and has spent most of his life working overseas first with P&O and then in aviation airport based. He has worked in The Sultanate of Oman for 9 years; then Hong Kong and Beijing for 17 years and lastly in Australia working for a subsidiary of Swissair. Retiring from aviation he and his wife purchased and jointly manage Beaumont House, a 16 bedroom Guest house in Cheltenham.
Ellie Fox – Trustee:
Ellie Fox originally trained as a nurse, working in the NHS, specialising in cardiology care. She then moved to Cheltenham to manage the Nuffield Hospital for 18 years. She has a keen interest in quality care and became an inspector for the Health Quality Service. She later joined the local care home inspection team where she worked for 4 years before finally retiring. Ellie now lives locally with her husband, Roger, and together they enjoy the opportunity to travel, attend the theatre and make the most of their retirement!
Tim Griffin – Trustee:
Tim is a Chartered Surveyor and was a Consultant with a large international Property Consultancy. He is now semi-retired and continues to advise a number of Clients on property matters. He was appointed a Trustee with Lilian Faithfull Homes in1986 and was Chairman of the Society from 1991 to 2004. He and his wife have lived in Prestbury for some 45 years and they enjoy sailing, walking and travelling.
Richard Lyons – Trustee:
Richard Lyons has been a trustee for several years and been a member of several of the charity’s committees. He is currently the Chair of Strategy and Development one of the most active of them. He lives in Montpelier and has been resident in Cheltenham for the better part of thirty years; married to Janet, they have three grown up children all of whom work in London. He is involved in other charities in a variety of capacities. By profession he is a solicitor now retired though he still assists his previous firm in a consultative capacity largely restricted to trust work.
Julia Manning – Trustee:
Julia has been a Trustee since 2006. She spent her working life in Social Services, Education and the Health Service. In retirement Julia is an active member of the W.I. and enjoys walking, gardening and playing Bridge.
David Nye – Trustee:
In 1981 David inherited Faithfull House and its Chapel (where two weekly services were held) as part of his new Cheltenham parish. He became a Trustee in 1989 since when he has served on every committee at some stage and as Chairman of the Board for six years from 2004.
Gareth Parry – Trustee:
Gareth is a partner in a local firm of solicitors, where he specialises in wills, trusts and elderly client matters. Prior to joining Lilian Faithfull in 2012, Gareth was a trustee of our fourth home, Dowty House, and oversaw its merger into the Lilian Faithfull fold. He lives in Cheltenham with his family and is a keen cyclist, wine buff and foodie.
