our care of residents; ensuring a nutritious diet
giving quality of life; ensuring our meals are a highlight of the day.
We took our catering teams in house in 2016 to increase the control we have over the dining experience of our residents in our bid to continually drive up standards. We are delighted that this year we made it to the final three in the national Care Home Awards for ‘Best for Nutrition, Food & Dining Experience’ run by Care Home Management magazine and Care England.
Our team of chefs prepare fresh nutritious and well balanced menus each day, offering a wide range of options at every meal. Menus are changed regularly to ensure constant variety and interest.
Each home offers a different range of options. In addition to breakfast, lunch and dinner we provide morning coffee, sherry hour, afternoon teas and pre-dinner drinks in our dining rooms, lounges or gardens (weather permitting!). Our catering teams enjoy creating special culinary treats to celebrate every occasion.
Residents choose where they like to dine; whether they enjoy sharing it in the company of others in our dining rooms or prefer to be in the privacy of their own room.
Lilian Faithfull Care’s dietician oversees the menus and undertakes individual assessments and dietary plans where appropriate. We cater for all dietary requirements both those required for medical reasons and, just as importantly, those around personal preferences. Our chefs are experienced at preparing special menus for people who have difficulties chewing or swallowing including puree meals.
All the homes welcome guests to join residents for a meal and often host family parties for special occasions.
"I would like to thank the chef for your lovely new menus. I really enjoy the interesting meals you and your staff prepare and cook for us."
“Amazing presentation and taste to the puree meals”
"Thanks for cake yesterday. It was a great and huge success. Your staff did a brilliant job. No-one could have done more and all the efforts were very much appreciated. "
"I just wanted to thank everyone for the care and support being given to mum. [We] are so grateful to all the staff. I was very pleased and touched that the chef took time out yesterday to come upstairs to find out how mum was doing, if she was eating and if there was anything she could get. Thanks again"
“I had to confirm that the meal they were serving my mum was actually pureed as it looked so much like a normal meal!”
