- Specialist dementia care
- End of life care
St Faith’s nursing home is delightful Victorian building with a modern 30-room extension.
Set among leafy residential streets and just a short walk from Cheltenham town centre, it provides respite, short and long-term accommodation and care for up to 69 residents in a safe and secure environment.
Our home is well-staffed, providing 24-hour, individually assessed and planned nursing care, with residents looked after by named nurses and carers. We also care for those with more advanced dementia, seeking to give these individuals time and personal attention to reduce their frustration and improve their daily experience. Our care team receive extended care training and are highly skilled in personal care to meet the needs of our residents. A physiotherapist, mental health nurse and ancillary staff all provide valuable additional support.
The high-quality, en-suite bedrooms have a comfortable feel and residents are encouraged to add their own furnishings and personal belongings. All bedrooms have medical nursing beds as well as nursing baths. St Faith’s has two double rooms to accommodate couples or good friends and some of our rooms open onto the garden. There is a lift to all floors.
We provide physiotherapy as part of our care plan however we can also arrange for residents to see their own therapists such as chiropodists, hairdressers, beauticians and aromatherapists. We have a mobile hairdresser that can move from room to room and visit every resident if required.
St Faith’s enclosed sensory garden is very popular with residents for socialising or quiet contemplation while the mobile multi-sensory machine can be taken to residents’ rooms to provide a stimulating and relaxing experience. Each floor has its own lounge and dining area so residents can enjoy relaxing environments and socialise in small groups.
St Faith’s plays a part in the local community. Pupils from nearby Cheltenham Ladies College come and participate in reminiscence projects with our residents while every week a local church brings Holy Communion to many of the residents. Some of the residents like to take assisted trips to Cheltenham town centre to visit a café. At Christmas the families of some of our residents come for Christmas dinner so the whole family can celebrate this special time together.
We are very proud of the traditional, homely atmosphere at St Faith’s, which the residents like very much. Mealtimes are a stimulating and social experience. All meals are made on the premises using fresh ingredients and the catering team is easily able to accommodate special diets. The catering team also create special menus for celebration days such as an Olympics themed evening when meals around the world were served to and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebration, which we marked with a specially decorated cake and traditional British food.
The ethos of the home is all-encompassing – individual care, maintaining dignity and a quality of life, and making the entire family the focus of care.”
Lilian Faithfull was there when my family needed it most. The staff are always friendly and nothing is too much trouble.” Naomi Turner, family of Lilian Faithfull resident
